In Uttar Pradesh Government, State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) has been constituted as the nodal agency under the Department of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation Program at the state level. This agency is registered under the Society Registration Act since November 20, 1990. District Urban Development Agencies (DUDA) have been established at the district level. Through these, schemes for social and economic upliftment of the urban poor are being implemented. The ex-officio chairman of the urban development agency of the district is the concerned District Magistrate. The presidents of all the municipal bodies of the district are its members.
Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation Program Department, Uttar Pradesh Government is mainly running the following schemes through the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) towards the all-round upliftment of the urban poor -
